Wednesday Doc:

Meeting with local HAM radio folk that are helping ECU with logistics. 

ARES- amateur radio emergency response... is a local (to greenville) group that was able to help FEMA and emergency medical personnel during the floods that devastated eastern NC last summer.  The locas ARES members are also members of the bright leaf club. (sound familiar to anyone?  They puzzled us when we found they had Strong Angel documentaion on their web sit.)

These guys want ECU to pay to send two men to HI. 

One is Brother Simon a well known and respected man in the area who is a HAM Guru.  (appearantly HAM has a lot of levels, like the military, and this guy is at the top.  It's also sweet b/c Brother Simon was just "forced" to retire from being the well loved and admired principle at the local catholic school and now this is like a dream come true to him b/c he loves being a part of humanitarian projects  :) )

The other is a local Doc who is also a HAM Guru. 

ECU can only send one... we are offering it to Brother Simon...

ECU is inviting the Doc hoping the school of family medicine will sponsor his way.

A lot of logistics to be worked out with ECU and their desire to take down the unused VOA towers that were donated to them years ago.

Patrick made a lot of phone calls to follow up on leads, make connections for the ECU group.

Emily documented, connected with other ECU people about needs.

Met about the SAtellite schedule:

Made some changes; viewed maps; discussed scheduling conflicts; big question: does CRNR need any more time.

How does CRNR stunt stuff fit into the big picture? what is the big picture?  Lori and Emily to get together and work on that.

Updated schedules making two versions: one for Gloria Jones (the bridge lady) to give to docs to schedule. and one for the rest of us.

Made more follow ups; connections; logistics to take care of

Emily worked on press releases and pulling content together to begin drafting, w/ Lori, how all the pieces fit together.
